The risk of “contracting something nasty” due to XP obsoleteness is about 0.001% of risk that some user will install ransomware on his/her machine (despite the measures taken to mitigate this).
And a clear policy of “do not plug/insert anything into the damn thing!”. We are a small company this LAN has ~15 machines connected.Įven better would be no network access. There are ~6 another machines with XP on this network. Which does not make it less irresponsible, unless you put the said machine on a dedicated network
